Talk To Me is about different stages of healing. It’s about facing your own fears and the attempt to turn them into strengths. The eye-catching video alongside the song, is directed by the 24 year old director, performer and visual artist (& best friend) Izak Berman. Izak & Noha have known eachother for a long time and have developed a special bond over the years, both in their collaborations and personal life.

Noha Saré is a 24 year old singer who stands out for her powerful, yet sensitive voice. Drawing on various genres, her music can not be classified into one specific category; Noha’s music tends to swing like her moods. She loves to play with contradictions in her personality and likes to dive into them and explore them. Both in her music and in her photography and videography. Born in Amsterdam and raised by parents who are both artists, Noha Saré grew up surrounded by art. From an early age, she and her brother Marius (who is a multi-instrumentalist and composer) started to perform and make music together. On the Horizon’ is the second track from Koresma & edapollo’s new EP. The tune contrasts the first single by delving into a pool of downtempo bliss. ‘On the Horizion’ features detailed guitar layering, ear candy synths, fresh vocal cuts, and a blend of textures arranged around the pulsating and hypnotic rhythms.

“This song is an ambient, meditative, spiritually inspired song written by my mom in 1992. Her lyrics and story explain the feeling of depression and anxiety until faith and hope were finally given to her by God. I related to this song in a profound way and wanted to produce it.”

Yaw Evans is an electronic music artist from South London known for his new and experimental approach to House, UKG, Jungle, Ambient and UK techno. Creatively inspired by London, Yaw’s distinctive electronic style is explorative, merging textures of his city’s culture, music and identity into his sound. Below are some excerpts of discussions with Yaw regarding his approach to the record.

INSPIRATION // INFLUENCE

“I see myself as a bit of a genre nomad and I wanted to create a set of tracks that spanned the various genres of electronic music that I’m into, whilst also not sticking to not just one tempo or style. Secondly, I wanted to use audio as a way of invoking memories of a given time and or place. The project is littered with audio recordings. Recording from my local underground station, local market streets, old radio sets, as well as past recordings of open public spaces like parks.”

TRACK DETAILS

“The title track is inspired by my fathers dementia which since the start of Covid lockdown measures, has seen a rapid decline in his memory, both short and long term. In particular with that track, I wanted to capture a sense of confusion and disorientation. There’s filtered vocals moving though the stereo field, which repeat over time but for the most part you can’t quite understand what they are saying. So you are not quite sure if you remember hearing it from earlier on in the track. Further, much of the ambience in that track (as well as others on the project) are made up of field recordings. The sound of a night club smoking area (pre-covid) or the sound of the street from my local market in Brixton.”

“There are vocal samples taken from old pirate radio recordings from the early to mid 00’s which I think give the opening track a sense of nostalgia. Especially for anyone who was lucky enough to live through that era of FM radio from in and around London.”

Yaw is also heavily involved in producer culture, sharing his methods + music with the vibrant online communities of hardware and production enthusiasts. He posts many of his live sets on his Instagram and YouTube. The closing track, “512 (Live Jam)” is indicative of that scene:

“The final track is a a recording of me jamming at my modular synth with drums provided by the Digitakt and WMD drum modules, with performance FX’s from the MC707. The whole thing is pretty raw and was done in one take with no real rehearsal and no post editing. Only compression and EQ in Ableton.”

Bonnie Doon is the first single from Zerbin’s coming full-length record (Spring 2021). It’s a nostalgic alt-pop track about reconnecting with an old love after years of life have happened since. You were young and it never quite happened, but now there’s a chance again. Pulling from psychedelics and losing faith, it features Zerbin’s hometown, Edmonton, and carries that early fall feeling with a crisp air wrapping up a deep missing of the warmth of summer’s love. Sonically, it sets the tone for Zerbin’s first new work as a solo artist, showing a matured artistry wrapped up in lush indie-pop production, inspired by his time living in London.

Missing Years: Sin, Love – is a collection of b-side recordings and unfinished works by Canadian Artist & Producer Jason Zerbin (Zerbin). Missing Years traces Zerbin’s deconstruction of faith and perspective over the course of 7 years, and is constituted by reflections on the process of change, loss, and love. The project was produced across his 7 years on the road, with locations spanning cabins in the Canadian woods, the Devonian countryside, and East Berlin.

Våke is a Norwegian folk band, based in Oslo, that consists of Rannveig (vocals), Andreas (guitar) and Vårin (vocals and violin).
