“Dont get deceived from the first 20seconds "I.W.Y.T.F.M.W.Y.H." from Hans Hella is not your next chill song, quite the opposite as unleash a strong synthpop energy and beautiful vocals full of retro vibes and through a bit melancholic atmosphere. A track to hit on before go out for a wild night. "I.W.Y.T.F.M.W.Y.H. is a reimagining of a lost Billy Idol song - it tells the story of a bizarre night spent at the Chelsea Hotel and all of its endless possibilities."”

Growing up on a steady diet of synth-pop, post-punk, and emo, Hans Hella is a veteran New York-based singer/songwriter turned producer who records his unique blend of alternative pop in seclusion. He is greatly inspired by the record-makers of both past and present, from Jeff Lynne (Electric Light Orchestra) to Jack Antonoff (Bleachers) to James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem). Shihori – Soul Trip (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Electronica, The Latest|Tags: , , |

“Through these glorious downtempo beats and synths that fit wised in the groove and Shihori's lush vocal signature style which gives life like sunshine on earth, you get the right melodic pop medicine to remove any negativity.”

-Nagamag.com

Visionary NYC-based Pop Singer Songwriter Shihori's new single "Soul Trip", out Sept 4th, carries a profound message for our chaotic and challenging times. Pulling from her unique life experience, Shihori shows the way to de-stress when faced with negativity and self-retreat to a higher frequency by invoking the power of music, melody and positive self-talk.

On the Importance of Switching Streams.

With negativity, gossip and chaos dominating our feeds and news sources, and with all of us facing the challenges of self-isolation, it's easy to give in to the negative stream.

Shihori, who has overcome multiple disabilities (Partial deafness, Asperger syndrome and dwarfism) and even a kidnapping incident in her relatively short life, sings songs about true love (“love who you are” etc) and how to create a stronger inner life; empowering yourself so you can empower others.

Shihori made her major debut in Japan in 2007. She has released popular songs, including 11 that were Gold Disc certificated (sold more than 10,000 copies) CDs despite facing many tough experiences since her childhood.

"Sometimes I felt death very near me, especially when I was bullied in elementary school and around the time I was mentally abused and kidnapped by music management company people. What saved me at last was the idea that “Everything has both sides, there’s a light on the other side of shadow”. “God coordinates things perfectly for better life all the time”. “So, SEEK THE LIGHT SIDE”

Shihori sang in her previous single, “Perfect Imperfection” about accepting your true self and both the shadow and light in you, as an existence having Perfect Imperfection. Now she steps forward to “show you how to get your self to the good statement from the negative statement.”

After a decade of her success in Japan, Shihori relocated to US to challenge herself and seek bigger success.

"These beliefs get me to seek the good meaning of what happens to me and what God wants me to learn from the thing TO BE BETTER. Knowing that there’s always better life waiting for you, your brain will find the solution eventually.

But when you are caught by irresistible negative thoughts or anxiety, it’s good to have a list of your favorite things, which make you smile. Tasting the happiness gets rid of the negatives from your mind, then you would be in a stream of higher frequency. Eat a cute cupcake…hold your dog tight…talk to your family or best friend or lover…Or listen to the music!"

Shihori has been struggling since her relocation in NY in 2018 to get used to American culture and to adjust her established music style to the American music industry and write songs in English.

“It wasn’t easy at all. I feel like I'm surviving in a jungle literally”, she says, but still her powerful music and performances full of positive energy have stunned audiences in the US.

Navigating a Pandemic and Finding New Creative Outlets

Through the pandemic and three months of self-quarantine, she created some songs which includes the previous single and this newest single, “Soul Trip.”

"I was pretty much stressed out at the beginning of the pandemic; all the gigs were canceled, I couldn’t have the studio sessions and photo shoots. But I told myself these beliefs everyday, I tried to find the light side of this hardship. I found this could be a great opportunity to invest in a better future while I can’t be out at all. I bought some equipment, made my bedroom into a recording and photoshoot studio, learned some new skills. I looked around Soundbetter and found two very talented music producers I could work on new singles with, which was the most amazing treasure I got because of this pandemic."

The New Single

Shihori's new single "Soul Trip" is a Killian Cruiser-produced melodic pop ballad featuring her signature emotionally charged, original vocal stylings. Shihori's melodies dance lightly over downtempo electronica beats and hypnotic synths. Killian Cruiser described the track as "super modern and vibey but kinda sexy and edgy too!"

The trip is a joyful one, like a walk with a trusted friend. The message is light but profound, delivered with sweetness.

"The power of “like” is the strongest. Remember it every time you feel stressed, pick your favorite something out! Then you will find the light a bit easier. I hope that ”Soul Trip” will help you get to the higher frequency!"

Goldmund – For a Time (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Neoclassical, The Latest|Tags: , , |

“Through this arp piano simplicity that started with "For A Time" of Goldmund in Western Vinyl, we felt and hope that through this early melancholy and twin peaks mood will be surprised more. And so it happened. Our wishes been heard on second half with again a minimilastic approach of soft synt layering. A harmonic layering which goes the melancholy bit further until it reaches the end, left you with a sweetness of need bit more. Like a good movie which cannot believe thats it and you hope someday the producer give a second chapter. Does he?”

-Nagamag.com

Pennsylvania native Keith Kenniff’s output as Goldmund has established him alongside peers like Hauschka, Nils Frahm, and even his past collaborator Ryuichi Sakamoto, who himself once described Kenniff’s work as “so, so, so beautiful”.

Also known for his work as Helios and as one part of Mint Julep, his recordings as Goldmund tread sincerely along paths laden with dusty timbres, diffuse synthesizer, and soaring string textures tinted by the muted glow of a cloudy analog sky above. More reflective than somber, with an uplifting trail he paves for the listener, today Goldmund shares the new track "For A Time", where Kenniff juxtaposes rippling piano work with a building electronic keyboard background. The results? Something that sounds like hope.

New album The Time it Takes is out October 16th via Western Vinyl.

Moon has continued to defy industry trends, earning worldwide retail airplay, online and college radio rotation and record numbers via over 10,000 Spotify followers, 1.6M+ Facebook fans and over 50,000 followers on Instagram.

Moon’s music draws influence from underground sounds ranging from rock, soul, punk rock, electronic and electro-pop soaked with aggressive, empowering, yet somehow soothing, electrifying the listener with it’s big bold energy. Moon wrote, produced and mixed LMH, which continues to inject genuine sex appeal, soulful vocal prowess and massive production all the while experimenting with new sounds and modern genre trends. The single “Don’t Stop Now” was also released as a standalone single, titled “Dead out of Love” last month alongside her ‘Translucent’ EP.

Lonely Faces Interview on Nagamag

Categories: Features, Interviews, The Latest|Tags: , , , , , |

Nagamag:
What are the genres that describe better your music style?

Lonely Faces:
Acid, Techno, EDM

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

Lonely Faces:
I have been interested in instrumental electronic music from a very young age. Originally playing piano and then bass guitar, i made the change to synthesizers by means of my first set of keys when i was in high school. Having always been fascinated with pattern and repetition, it was natural for me to gravitate towards dance and club music. During my late teens and 20s, i was heavily influenced by what was going on here in Melbourne-it was the 90s- there was a thriving rave scene and the music was very fresh and new. You could go out just about every night of the week- it was a very Inspirational time and i feel very honoured to be part of a very exciting era in music.

It was really a decade later that i really became serious about production and really started to build my studio and learn my craft. I had a strong leaning toward analog synthesizers and classic technology form the 80s being a prolific user of many of the Roland instruments from that era, namely the x0x series of devices that we all know and love.

My association with Tempest Recordings and more recently, it's subsidiary Slice Records, began around 5 years ago with the release of some work under the name Guilty Hero (a duo)- a name i no longer use. I decided to forge ahead with Lonely Faces, as this satisfied my various creative desires, and this is where I find myself today....Happily working in my studio, experimenting and exploring.

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

Lonely Faces:
Music has always been a combination of escapism and self expression for me. From a very early age, i had an interest in the process of electronic music making- even long before i knew the techniques, i was compelled my the musical result of sound design and sequencing. I listened to a lot of krout rock and decided that one day I was to create my own technology based art.

Nagamag:
You talk about 80s Synthesizers. Can you please elaborate about the uses of this technology.

Lonely Faces:
I think a lot of people would assume that technology based music would use the most up-to-date equipment at the time....Not so for me, as most of the sound sources i use really have there roots in previous decades. As with many of my contemporaries the TR series of drum machines and of course the 303 are very important devices. The way these instruments sound has always intrigued me, both in use and result.

Nagamag:
Most artists have a favorite song from a different music genre than the one they are producing music for... Which is yours?

Lonely Faces:
Mike Oldfield "Ommadawn Pt1"

Nagamag:
Of Course Nagamag would love to listen also which track from a similar artist you admire?

Lonely Faces:
Thomas P. Heckmann "Himmel & Hoelle"

Klangkarussell – Follow (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, House, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“"Follow" this brilliant sound design of Klangkarussell & GIVVEN at Bias Beach Records, delivering a summer melancholy through their chill house beats. Dreamy warm vocals and lush reverbs with a groove that will make you move. A song that you want to end a great night at club.”

-Nagamag.com

Klangkarussell x GIVVEN’s ‘Follow’ drops almost a year to the day since Klangkarussell launched Bias Beachwith ‘Comoros’, their first single away from a major label deal that spawned hit singles ‘Sonnentanz’ and ‘Time’, and their debut album, ‘Netzwerk’. Going independent has proven to be a winning strategy: Klangkarussell nowhave over 2.75 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone, spurred by the huge success of a run of singles, and Bias Beach has become home to other artistic configurations such as GIVVEN, who featured on ‘Ghostkeeper’and comprise Klang’s Adrian alongside Jordan and Nico.

Adrian and Tobi’s last single, ‘My World’ (feat. Kyle Pearce), and the accompanying short film, revisitedenvironmental issues that Klangkarussell have previously touched upon in their songs. This single joined ‘Shipwreck’ as a two-track release and has so far had over 3 million streams. Ahead of this came ‘Ghostkeeper’, their previous collaboration with GIVVEN, which has now hit over 7 million streams.

‘Comoros’ was Bias Beach’s debut release, and at the time Klangkarussell’s first new music in over 2 years. The burst of studio activity had followed a summer of standout festival performances and sold out headline shows that saw them play to crowds in the UK (sold out Night Tales London), Europe (including taking the Saturday night honours at Benicassim), Beirut and South America. This January, Tobi and Adrian played another sold out headline show at Night Tales London (which saw queues around the block), with further DJ dates in Europe and beyond. Forthcoming shows have been cancelled and rescheduled where possible due to coronavirus.

Klangkarussell, which translates to English as "Sound Carousel", were formed in Salzburg, Austria by Tobias Rieser and Adrian Held. Both respected producers in their own right, they first broke through with the jazz-tinged instrumental club record ‘Sonnentanz’, which reached the Top 10 singles chart in 6 different countries, including No.1 in The Netherlands. Like many dance artists faced with unexpected success, a record they’d written for their own DJ sets had taken on a life of it’s own, and when a vocal version - retitled ‘Sonnentanz (Sun Don't Shine)’ and featuring British soul singer Will Heard - was released the following summer, the track charted in both the UK and Ireland, going on to become one of the biggest dance records of this decade (despite the pair shunning all publicity).

Following the success of ‘Sonnentanz’, the duo then released their second single, ‘Netzwerk (Falls Like Rain)’, featuring vocalist Tom Havelock, and which also became a hit. Klangkarussell’s debut album, ‘Netzwerk’, appeared soon after and sporting the singles ‘Hey Maria’ and ‘In the Crowd Alone’ appeared in 2016, followed by ‘Time’, ‘Circuits’, and ‘Good to Go’ in 2017. Musically, and with the type of creative freedom they had during their initial rise to fame, both Tobi and Adrian have entered a new decade exactly where they want to be.

Sir Ivan – Get Together (Video)

Categories: Features, Pop, Songwriter Features, The Latest, Video|Tags: , , |

“What a positive track to end your week and prepare with the best mood for weekend. Sir Ivan invites us to Get Together, as one we do more than move alone and through these good vibes and beautiful harmonics, Sir Ivan with his signature voice lifts up our energy.”

-Nagamag.com

Earning a prestigious award held also by the likes of film titans Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg is certainly not what International recording artist Sir Ivan set out to do, but due to his incredibly unique concept, that is precisely what happened. Sir Ivan’s remake of the 1967 hit song “Get Together” by The Youngbloods, as a dance song, has had incredible success and now the official music video will premiere on Wednesday, September 9th at 11am EDT.

The video, prior to public release, has already won a Gold Remi in the category of “Video of the Year”. This award gave Sir Ivan the top honor out of nearly 5,000 other entries, from 53 countries, including strong international competition; especially from the USA and England.

Responding to this huge achievement, Sir Ivan says “In my almost 20 year music career, the two greatest ideas I’ve had yet, have been: 1) Remaking John Lennon’s iconic peace song ‘Imagine’ into an electronic dance record and 2) Coming up with this video concept where I assembled the world’s most famous peace leaders in history, to act as my ‘backup band’, with me as the lead singer. Neither of these ideas had ever been done before”.

In the video, character actors portray five of the most recognizable advocates of peace in the history of the world. In the second half of the video, the “backup band” moves inside Sir Ivan’s penthouse where they sit around the table, as great friends, sharing a “peace pipe”. Meanwhile, people from all walks of life are just steps away from “Sir Ivan & The Peacemen”, dancing and having a wonderful time, celebrating peace, love, and life… Together.

The music video is presented in satirical form as political speech, for the purpose of spreading the message of peace, during the current civil unrest…

Sir Ivan is donating all net proceeds from “Get Together” to The Peaceman Foundation, a charity he created to raise awareness and help those that suffer from PTSD.

More about Sir Ivan Sir Ivan aka Peaceman has dedicated his recording artist career to remaking the iconic peace songs from the 1960’s, and was the first to take a Beatles or John Lennon ballad and turn it into an Electronic Dance Music (EDM) song. “Imagine” launched Sir Ivan’s career and all his songs since have gone on to top the charts on Billboard, DJ Times, and Music Week. The passion that Sir Ivan has for spreading peace, love and equality to all humankind comes from losing 59 relatives in the Holocaust and hearing those stories from his father, Siggi, who was an Auschwitz survivor.

On April 6, 2021 the world will finally get to hear the full story of Siggi B. Wilzig. Available now for pre-order on Amazon, by author Joshua M. Greene, is “Unstoppable” – The Incredible Journey of Siggi B. Wilzig, the Auschwitz Survivor Who Over-came All Odds and Became a Wall Street Legend.
