Throughout their illustrious career, the name Krewella has become known for hard-hitting and yet emotionally charged music. True to form, the Jahan and Yasmine sisters’ new body of work – “The Body Never Lies” is a shining example of their signature sound and artistic direction. After releasing singles “Never Been Hurt” with BEAUZ, “No Control” with MADGRRL, and “I’m Just A Monster Underneath, My Darling,” Krewella has unveiled the full 10-track masterpiece. The album was created from an intimate, internal space of Krewella’s self-reflection, exploring impermanence, the oddity of human experience, their relationship to the world around them as women in a male-dominated society. “The Body Never Lies” title hints at the range of emotions within the LP, with each track as unique and varied as our feelings themselves. “Traces” serves as a haunting opener, quickly followed by a series of heavier tracks, including the drum & bass-inspired “In The Water” and the angry yet touching “War Forever.” Krewella hits a different vibe with the last three tracks, which explore the darker and more tender side of the human experience. After a long wait for this highly anticipated album, to say that Krewella has done it again with “The Body Never Lies” would be an understatement. The album’s release coincides with their upcoming 2022 album-themed tour, which covers 2+ months of live shows and DJ sets, hitting cities including Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Denver, and more.

“The clench of a fist, the pit in your stomach, the fluid in your veins; the body is a sensor, messenger, keeper of stories, a fortress of the soul, an instrument of knowing, a rocket ship to other worlds. Every cell, pore, and bone recalls the past, absorbs the present, and senses the future. ‘The Body Never Lies’ is at times an angry, sometimes feverish, but always a euphoric conversation about feeling, remembering, and existing in our individual vessels that encase our soul and memories.” – Krewella

Sisters Jahan and Yasmine exploded onto the scene in 2012 with their debut self-released EP “Play Hard,” which has now been streamed almost 150M times on Spotify alone; additionally, their single “Alive” from the EP has been certified Platinum. Since then, the duo has made a name for themselves and their hard-hitting yet melodic and vocal-driven sound through releases like “Live for the Night,” “Enjoy the Ride,” and more. In 2016, Krewella was awarded a coveted place on Forbes’s “30 Under 30” list. They have performed at major global music festivals, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, EDC Las Vegas, Ultra Music Festival, iHeartRadio Music Festival, and many others, in addition to their own headlining tours. As one of the main elements of the Krewella canon, the group’s onstage performances serve as the live extension of their music and art, incorporating a multitude of audiovisual elements together with Jahan and Yasmine’s live vocals and powerful onstage energy.

“When you feel trapped in a toxic relationship and have unsuccessfully tried to improve things, you may have to give up. This is the story of “Saults” as it unfolds in Indie Pop mood and surely independent spirit! Fast, groovy and dancing result guaranteed.”

-Nagamag.com

Taking its lead from their previous single; “Stuck In Old Fantasy”, Saults latest banger, “Givin Up” comes to you via German Indie powerhouse Swutch Music, the home of some of the most exciting up-and-coming electronic music in 2022.

With Jack Wilson from Fickle Friends once again in the producer’s chair, there’s a slickness that is both palpable and fresh. “Givin Up” delivers on every level be that musically, vocally, or just straight-up bop-ability. This is one song that will lead us all into the summer we desperately need (or at least until Saults release their next smash).

Quote : “What Givin’ Up on Me wants to express is that sort of relationship we’ve all been in, when you try everything to make it work but it keeps falling into pieces no matter what. So there’s only one way to break the cycle of failure: tell your partner to leave you, to set you free, because you can’t do it by yourself.”

Suzanne’s Band Interview on Nagamag

.

Nagamag:
Which are the genres that describe your music style better?

Suzanne's Band:
Country, Blues, Pop

Nagamag:
Few words about your musical background and career?

Suzanne's Band:
Suzanne has always been involved in music in some way, shape or form such as choirs, ensembles and solo singing performances. In 2016, upon the urging of a friend, she started playing guitar and it opened the door to songwriting and public performances in a band setting. In 2017, she was moved to start her own music business Suzanne's Band with the focus of writing, producing and performing songs having a vintage sound along with heartfelt understandable lyrics; something sadly lacking in today's music environment. Listeners both young and old have been drawn in to the messages and the positive vibes. In just a few short years, she has grown an impressive fan base, a thriving You Tube channel, produced two Christmas singles, an EP, two albums and been nominated into the Grammy (Recording Academy) organization which is no small feat these days. She uses one band for recording and another band for public performances. She enjoys playing classic rock, pop and country along with her originals in her home state of Texas in the United States.

Nagamag:
Do you remember your first connection of love to music that was the right impact to be a music artist now?

Suzanne's Band:
I remember as a toddler how much I loved to play records and sing along. Being a dancer too, my body loves to move with music.
When I retired, I wanted to do something every day that I wouldn't ever get tired of. Music was the one thing I knew was in my soul
and that I needed to bring out into the community.

Nagamag:
Do you do anything musically outside of your business?

Suzanne's Band:
Yes, I'm involved in two different groups. I play guitar or piano every Sunday with my church band. Every Monday, I'm part of an over 50 in age and also number of people that go out to all the assisted living and over 50 in age communities in our area and perform a one hour variety music show. This brings music to those who never get to go out and hear their favorite songs any more. These folks don't have radios any more or other electronics to hear music familiar to them.

Nagamag:
Many artists listen to genres that they are not producing music for. Which track is your favorite that is NOT similar to yours?

Suzanne's Band:
Styx "Don't Let It End"

Nagamag:
Of Course Nagamag would love to listen also which is the track from a similar artist you admire?

Suzanne's Band:
Brandi Carlisle "The Joke"

SHAUN x Yuna – So Right (feat. Yuna)

Categories: Audio, Features, Pop, Pop Features, The Latest|Tags: , , , |

“Love songs always have a strong, outstanding momentum and -SHAUN & Yuna- know this very well, reflecting the essence and power of feelings in their new single. A bit of nostalgic Neo-soul rhythm and melodic Electro Pop and you have a mind-blowing cocktail for the best mood!”

“Песни о любви всегда имеют сильный, выдающийся импульс и -SHAUN & Yuna- знают об этом очень хорошо, отражая всю суть и силу чувств в своём новом сингле. Немного ностальгического neo-soul, ритма и мелодики electro pop и перед вами умопомрачительный коктейль для наилучшего настроения!”

-Nagamag.com

"So Right" is a song that teases the emotions of “love at first sight” and the butterflies that come with those feelings. Shaun was in charge of the overall production, composition, and arrangement of the track. Yuna also participated in the composition, while coming up with the lyrics and narrative to drive this production home.

Asia's leading artist Shaun and Yuna met last October in a studio in LA and started their musical exchanges. Since then, they have continued to communicate steadily from their respective countries and today have released their joining masterpiece.

Shaun’s voice is strongly depicted through sensuous beats and deep sounds complemented with the snare, finger snaps, and kicks. In addition, Yuna's soft vocals captivate listeners on top of the fascinating guitar sound, completing the sensibility of "So Right." A beautiful creation by both artists, expressing the rollercoaster of emotions perfectly, the high energy, the warm fuzzy feeling, confusion, and sensuality.

Yuna is a global top singer-songwriter representing hijabsters, a compound word between hijab and hipsters. She is receiving enthusiastic support from the MZ generation, actively expressing modern women's images beyond the image of a traditional Muslim woman.

In particular, the collaboration was based on multiculturalism, a mission that the Record Label UEG (Unbound Entertainment Group) strives for, hoping to contribute to developing perspectives on Asia around the world through the emergence of Asian Americans.

Kevin McKay – Goodies (Spotify)

Categories: Audio, Features, House, House Features, The Latest|Tags: , , , , |

“Kevin McKay's new tune can be considered everything but ordinary. House and Commercial mix of samples forming dynamic patterns. The chorus effect adds extra colour in the sound and those vocals captivate your mind.”

-Nagamag.com

Dance music figurehead Kevin McKay has released 'Goodies', the new single from his brand new album of the same name; a superb collection of his most standout recent tracks, looking back over a massively productive 15 month period. The essential selection takes in a broad array of remixes and originals from the Glasgow Underground label head, world-renowned DJ and tireless producer.

The single 'Goodies' is a rework of Ciara's 2004 R&B classic ‘Goodies.’ Talking about the new single Kevin McKay said, "This track started as an edit I made of the Ciara original to play out. I love the simplicity of Lil Jon's production (musically, it's almost all on one note!), and Ciara's rhythmic delivery makes for a great dancefloor mover. So I've taken the signature chorus, wrapped it up in a heavy tech beat and developed the Ocarina synth in the original into a big drop synth. It got a wicked reaction when I played it at the GU party at NT's Loft in January."

Even by his high standards, Kevin McKay has had a landmark couple of years. His label is closing in on an incredible 700th release, and the man himself continued to turn out a high-grade, non-stop selection of vital sounds that covered a wide spectrum of house styles. Back in 2020, he dropped his well-received 'Summer Of Love' LP which perfectly captured the club experience in one indispensable album. There was also a huge collaboration with French house producer Norman Doray on "Let Me Work On You" while the Glasgow Underground label continued to make exciting new talent signings with the likes of prodigious producer Harvee quickly making his mark.

All this of course comes after Kevin has spent many years deeply entrenched in the scene. In that time he has earned a deserving reputation as one of house music's most hard-working figures and has done everything from working in high profile collaborative duos with Omid 16B, creating numerous dance floor anthems, discovering and co-producing Mylo’s seminal album, ‘Destroy Rock & Roll’ album and holding down a residency at Mick's Garage in London.

The new album features plenty of new vocal tunes such as "Take It Back", "Open Your Heart" and "Voices", but the majority of the tracks are classic songs and samples re-imagined with a 2022 groove, including his huge new rework of Ciara's "Goodies".
